About the Friends

Since 1980, The Friends of the Lehigh University Libraries have been dedicated to enhancing and extending high-quality library services through unique campus programming and the support of innovative projects.
The Friends have a broad impact on the campus and the Lehigh Valley community through funding and sponsorship of:
  • Outstanding speakers on libraries, publishing, rare materials and digital innovation
  • Campus visits by major authors
  • The Libraries Student Research Prize
  • The  Faculty Authors reception, recognizing new books by the Lehigh faculty
  • Student readings, featuring original work 
  • Presentations by faculty members who have made creative use of library collections, print and digital
  • Experimental digital library projects 
  • Rare book conservation

Join the Friends

Your membership is needed to help ensure that the Friends can continue supporting libraries at Lehigh. You will help deliver programming that explores the intersection of the print and digital in contemporary scholarship and in libraries.  As a Friend, you will enjoy book borrowing privileges at the University Libraries and receive invitations to events and receptions, where you will meet other Friends and regional book/library aficionados.
