What’s open when?
LTS provides the Lehigh community with study areas, access to resources, experts ready to help, and events that promote inquiry, deepen learning, and build community.
Fairchild-Martindale Library (FML) and Linderman Library hours (Lehigh ID tap entry is required after 9:00PM).
- Monday-Thursday: 7:45AM - 2AM (both libraries)
- Friday: FML: 7:45AM - 12AM; Linderman: 7:45AM - 10PM
- Saturday: FML: 9AM - 12AM; Linderman: 9AM - 10PM
- Sunday: 9AM - 2AM (both libraries)
Need a place for all-hours work and study? The Lehigh Computing Center is open 24/7 during fall, spring, and summer semesters with tap access when the building is open but the doors are locked. The space features flexible soft seating with convenient built-in mobile chargers throughout and plenty of portable whiteboards, Windows computers, and wall-mounted laptop-ready displays. Dining at the libraries
Be sure to visit the newly renovated and reimagined Lucy’s Cafe on the lower level of Linderman Library, where you can dine, work, collaborate, and socialize in a casual atmosphere. The cafe offers Seattle's Best Coffee, breakfast sandwiches, fresh baked goods, on-demand milkshakes, grab and go, and more!
The Grind @ FML maintains its regular hours of operation.

Getting (re)started in the Lehigh Libraries
The Lehigh Libraries offer access to an extensive collection of digital journals, print books, ebooks, databases, tools, and rare and archival materials. Deepen your reading and research by searching our collection, keep up with news such as the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Foreign Policy, and explore fiction, poetry, non-fiction and beyond by BIPOC and LGBTQ+ writers in our OverDrive ebook and audiobook Library. You can also use the PALCI EZBorrow interlibrary loan system to request books from over 50 partner institutions.
This year’s new library resources include PitchBook, a leading resource on detailed data on venture capital, private equity and the M&A landscape; TDM Studio, a text and data mining tool; the complete digital archives of Jet and Ebony magazines, major publications chronicling Black American life; enhanced access to the CNKI collection of Chinese academic journals; and Mango, an app-optimized language-learning platform.
Researchers can search Pivot to discover funding opportunities, find preprints, create an ORCID profile to enhance potential research impact, and use Zotero to create and organize your reference library. Contact your liaison librarian to learn more!

Arts & Events
Come by the beautiful Linderman Library and browse Where Do We Go from Here? Maps and Atlases from the Duncan Payne and Lehigh Libraries Collections, an exhibition featuring historic maps and atlases celebrating the gift of a number of rare books bequeathed to the Libraries by a Lehigh alumnus Duncan Payne.
Visit Fairchild-Martindale Study Gallery (5th fl. south) for Bodies of Knowledge, a multi-site art exhibition that explores the many roles that the human body takes in shaping and creating knowledge.

What’s new in software and technology?
Data skills aren’t just for a small handful of careers anymore. Today, they’re essential in every discipline. LTS is pleased to introduce DataCamp, an online learning platform specializing in teaching data literacy for all skill levels. There is no software installation as all learning takes place in a web browser, where students will have the opportunity to follow expert-led courses, complete bite-sized exercises, and receive real-time feedback. Important changes are coming to Google cloud-based storage. Be sure to take a look at your Google quota and reduce your storage before upcoming Google limits are implemented. LTS makes available an up-to-date resource page with step-by-step guides, data migration tools as they become available, and FAQs to help make the process easier for you!
Can’t remember a hundred passwords? Neither can we! Keeper Security -- available free to the Lehigh community -- allows you to easily access, save, and update your passwords for any website or app - and the only password you have to remember is the master password for your Keeper account. We offer over 30 seminars highlighting Lehigh tools, software, and services designed to help you work more efficiently and maximize your productivity in the office, the classroom, or in your research.

What’s new in teaching and learning?
Get ready for Moodle 4! An upgrade to Moodle 4.1, scheduled for Spring 2024, will bring a completely redesigned and freshly intuitive look and feel to the Course Site LMS, making it easier for faculty to create innovative and collaborative learning experiences and for students to intuitively prioritize and complete course work. Watch for workshops, drop-in sessions, and extensive documentation to set you up for success next spring.
CITL is partnering with 17 Faculty Fellows on 15 projects on innovative pedagogies, including the use of Generative AI, VR/XR and immersive learning, inquiry-based learning, and cross-disciplinary moments in their Fall 2023 courses. Look for an invitation soon to join our Communities of Practice around each of these pedagogies, led by our Faculty Fellows, as well as a New Faculty Community of Practice and one focused on Virtual International Exchange (VIE).
Did you miss the CITL Summer Workshop session on Generative AI? Take a look at the session recording and numerous supplemental resources to help you navigate the impact of this transformative technology on your teaching.
CITL spaces, including the Digital Media Studio, Visualization + XR Learning Lab, DIY Video & Lightboard Studio, and Audio Recording Studio are great resources to support teaching and learning. Do you have students looking for hands-on tools, software, and resources to explore the fields of VR, AR, 3D modeling, 360 video production? If so, learn more about the CITL Student Developer Lab, located on the lower level of the Computing Center, just across from FML.
The Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning offers ongoing pedagogical consultations; partners with faculty on course-based writing, research, and digital media projects; supports classroom technology across campus; and provides teaching and creation spaces in both libraries. CITL also welcomes two new staff members this fall: Yvonne Lee, our new Director of Writing Across the Curriculum, and Justin Greenlee our new Digital Scholarship Specialist.
