One of the first steps anyone new to Lehigh takes is to open their computer account, necessary to access all university systems and services that require authentication. If you ever had a special request, needed help, or had a question about your password or account, it’s very likely that you connected with Margaret Petrovich.

After 45 years of service to Lehigh, Petrovich has announced that she will retire from her position as Security Coordinator in Identity and Access Management (IAM) on June 30, 2023.

Margaret joined Lehigh in 1978, holding various administrative positions in the Libraries, including library accountant, a role she held until 1999. She later transitioned to the Computing Center as Client Communications Coordinator, supporting Lehigh computing accounts and managing account requests. In early 2016, she was promoted to Security Coordinator and began managing Banner access in addition to serving as IAM’s primary point of contact and supporting computing accounts.

The university has recognized her for her excellent work with several awards, including the Perry & Carol Zirkel Nonexempt Staff Award, the Lehigh Tradition of Excellence Award, and, most recently, a Spot Bonus Award. Forest Crowley, Information Security Architect, said  “Margaret's reputation is not only for her excellent work and diligence, but also as a great friend to many of us. I know that I speak for everyone in LTS when I say that she will be greatly missed.”

Library and Technology Services thanks Margaret for her years of exceptional service and dedication to the Lehigh community, and we extend our heartfelt wishes for a wonderful retirement!
