Is Architecture Sustainable? Contemporary Issues & The Built Environment, November 4th!

Friends of the Libraries talk by Nikolai P. Nikolov, Assistant Professor, Art, Architecture and Design, Lehigh University.

After several decades of gathering momentum, the sustainability movement is showing signs of maturity. Architects are moving beyond aesthetic disagreements on the use of green building materials, natural resources, and technology. The construction industry is starting to think of the built environment in a strategic manner. Today environmental concerns are an inextricable part of the design and construction processes and reflect our more holistic understanding of the environment. This talk will use exemplary architectural projects from around the globe to discuss current issues of sustainability and the built environment.

Join us on November 4th, noon, Scheler Humanities Forum, Linderman Library.  Refreshments will be served. For more information, e-mail meg409@lehigh.edu.
